Respectfully, Reverend Rasberry, I believe this is about getting history right, not "disproving theories." I noticed you list David McCullough's 1776 as a favorite book. It's a great read! Did you like it for the theories? We are in a sad state if we, as Christians, view guarding the truth as the pursuit of those with "waay too much time on their hands." Getting Jefferson Right is a book that needed to be written.

It is said that one can be a Christian even starting with a grain of faith as small as a mustard seed. I think that every Christian also has some confidence that at the heart of each person's faith that there is also at least a grain or more of actual truth, as well. To me, anyone who believes their faith is supported by some truth would want to preserve and protect that truth, and keep it pure from contamination. I would rather have a small faith and small amount of truth, than to have any amount of faith wrapped around a false "truth". So faith should make everyone want to protect whatever amounts of truth they have, and not mix them with confusion or error. In my view, your scholarship on this book bears witness to your dedication to the truth, wherever it may lead. I truly believe that the truth will set us free, but I am not sure if Mr. Barton shares that view.
I have bought your book today, and look forward to reading it in full. Thanks for your efforts to help all Americans stand upon rock instead of sand in forming our views.

Rev. Rasberry: The focus is not on theories but on matters of fact. You sound dismissive of the effort to make true claims which seems odd for a minister.
